Baden's Best sits nestled among a forest of towering pine trees on a quiet street in Tahoe Donner. You can feel the warmth emanate from this cabin the moment you step inside. Start your vacation by relaxing upstairs in our living room with its vaulted knotty pine ceiling, comfy leather couch, beautiful stone fireplace hearth and gas burning stove. If you still have energy after a hard day on the mountains, have fun socializing downstairs in the fourth bedroom/family room with its Big Screen TV & DVD player, Pool Table and multiple X-Box games. However, don't have too much fun and forget to prepare a scrumptious meal for your guests in the gourmet kitchen outfitted with everything a chef needs to prepare a fabulous meal. Finally, before you retire for the evening, warm your tired feet in our hot tub that seats 7 guests and gaze at the stars through the forest of pine tress surrounding our cabin. This gorgeous home, with its lovely surroundings and classic Tahoe setting, is sure to delight everyone.
As a child, my parents would take my siblings and I up to the mountains to go sledding or snow skiing. I’ve enjoyed the mountains, the outdoors and the fresh air ever since, it's my passion. Years later my wife and I took a scenic ride through Tahoe Donner on the way home from Reno one day and fell in love with this small mountain community. It didn’t take long for us to decide what a great place this is to spend time with our kids. Later that year in 2004, we had the opportunity to make a dream come true when we purchased this beautiful cabin that we call Badens Best. We have enjoyed countless summers and winters here with friends and family making everlasting memories and look forward to sharing our beautiful cabin with you. Since we first purchased our cabin back in 2004 we've continuously decorated our cabin as if it were our own home. You will find beautiful furnishings, art work, high quality linens. We have also enlarged the back deck to make room for a hot tub. Our home is now furnished and ready to entertain guests at any time, I look forward to sharing my dream with you ~ John

Summary: We'll stay again if we have the chance. Luxurious is a stretch, but the kitchen is nice, and the oven is luxurious! The hosts are organized. Would have been nice if they would have had the snow on the deck cleared to make using the grill easier. Also, some folks might have minded having to shovel snow for an hour to use the garages when we arrived, but I enjoyed the workout :)The showers are the weakest feature. Also, I'm sure they didn't mean to intrude, but it was weird that someone came to service the hot tub out back & they didn't tell us they were coming by.

Summary: Had an amazing long weekend at John’s cabin. Quiet and tranquil location in the woods. It was the perfect location. Loved the fully stocked kitchen and hot tub. Our group had an amazing stay and we’d definitely be back.

Summary: This spot was perfect for our family summer vacation. The home was well appointed and comfortable. The game room downstairs was a great gathering spot for a game of pool or some TV time. The location was amazing - the trail head just down the block became our favorite morning walk. We also enjoyed the Truckee area and how close everything was and especially Donner Lake and the surrounding trails and hikes. The amenities of Tahoe Donner were also fun - we loved trivia night at Alder Creek. The hosts were very responsive and helpful! Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking in the Truckee area. We hope to return soon.

Summary: We love going to Donner Lake in the summer, and we really loved this property. The house was exactly as advertised, very comfortable, and well-stocked. It has 3 bedrooms on the main floor, and a large family room with bunks, a trundle, and a sleeper sofa on the ground floor. We had adults upstairs and college-age kids on the ground floor. The main floor has newly-installed air-conditioning (hard to find in this area) which was a huge plus because it was in the 90s during the day. The downstairs stayed cool even without A/C, so we were all comfortable. The house has a pool table and a hot tub, and we enjoyed all the Tahoe Donner amenties, including the fitness center, hiking trails, and the lake itself. The house was very clean when we arrived, and clearly the hosts have put a lot of thought into stocking the kitchen with cooking utensils etc. The location was great - an easy, flat 15 minute trail walk to the Trout Creek Rec Center, and a short drive to Donner Pass Road and downtown Truckee for shopping and restaurants. Communication with the hosts was excellent. Overall, great stay. We recommend it, and we would stay here again.

Summary: We had an absolutely wonderful stay. The home was not only beautifully appointed and comfortable but also very clean and spacious, with big windows that offered lovely views of the surrounding trees. Couches and beds were super comfortable. The yard was a highlight, providing a great space to play in the snow, and the pool table was incredibly fun and enjoyed by all, kids and adults alike. There’s a fun hot tub on the deck too. We also enjoyed the opportunity to cook in the well-equipped kitchen, which made meal times a joy. The hosts were incredibly responsive and helpful, making sure that our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Additionally, the location of the home was perfect, close to a variety of great activities that Tahoe Donner has to offer. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I would highly recommend this vacation rental to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in the Tahoe Donner area.

Summary: This place is a gem. Wonderful area, close to slopes and the town of truckee. The house itself is lovely and the kitchen is stocked like someone actually lives there. It was perfect for our girls’ get away. We cooked, hung out, sat in the hot tub after skiing and snow shoeing and had a great time all around.

Summary: We had a wonderful long weekend in this beautiful cabin. The location is centrally located. We thoroughly enjoyed the kitchen. The beds were comfortable - even the downstairs bunk beds. We would happily return.
